At BEYOND THE THRIFT, we envision a world where every person has access to the resources, they need to live a healthy, happy, and fulfilling life. We strive to create a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances.
We are a Federally recognized non-profit, but the key is that you have to be profitable before you can be a nonprofit. We do have expenses that have to be paid and unfortunately, we are not bringing in enough to cover those costs. In the meantime, we are deliberate with how we manage the donations that are brought to us. We very carefully go through all donations brought in and determine if they could better be utilized by another charity. For example, 90% of the shoes we take in go right back out to Changing Footprints South in Southport. We donate formal dresses to Once Upon a Prom, Glass Slipper and wedding gowns to Little Angel Gowns.
Once we get to the point, we are profitable we will create a scholarship program to encourage kiddos to go further in the trade industries, The JFK trades Foundation. We will also offer more support to the schools, teachers especially, in our local community. We want to help provide some of the classroom supplies that are needed throughout the year.
Everyone that we've met on this journey has been amazing. You are kind, supportive of us and so very generous. I feel like it is our responsibility to be good stewards of all the things you trust us with. Bonus, it's the right thing to do.
Psalm 24:1 "The earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world and all who live in it." This verse emphasizes that God is the ultimate owner of everything in the world. We are merely temporary caretakers of His possessions. Good stewardship involves acknowledging this truth and using the resources entrusted to us in a way that aligns with God’s will and brings glory to His name.

Keep an eye on our Facebook page to verify we don't have a temporary hold on donations. Otherwise, you are welcome to bring donations into the store anytime we are open.
Volunteer

Use your voice
Tell everyone you know. Tell them about our pricing, about your experience at the store, tell them about donating or volunteering. You can share things on social media. Leave us a Google review. Hand out business cards. Get one of our t-shirts and wear it all the time. Be our voice to the world.
Prayers
Please pray for us as a team. Pray for us as a business. Pray for us to make a lasting impact on our little corner of the world. Pray that we continue to have big faith that God put us here for good. Pray for our strength our health, our faith, our knowledge, our hearts, our discernment, our relationships with one another, our customers, our friends and God. Pray that we always remember why we are here and keep our eye on God.
Shop
A great way to help the store stay in business, shop with us. If there is something that you are specifically looking for, ask us if we have it prior to going to the big box store. We get such a wide variety of things in on donation, and you never know, we might have exactly what you are looking for.
Encouragement
We have a lot of very heavy days. We hear about a lot of battles that people are going through on a daily basis and it starts to weigh on you after a while. There is nothing better than a smiling face and a hug. Just stop by and say hi, I promise I will be excited to see you!!!!!
